Is Your Body the Victim of Your Food Choices? Find Out!

Are you someone who likes to eat pizza loaded with extra cheese or someone who loves to gulp down an entire glass of sweet and creamy milkshake in one go? All these things are extremely appetizing and irresistible to our taste buds! But what we don’t realize is how unhealthy and harmful these things are for our body. Your body gives out signals when it doesn’t get the needed nutrition to function perfectly. In order to keep track and stop eating unhealthy, you need to have a clear understanding of some early signals.

Inability to Focus/Concentrate

Consumption of saturated fatty acids impairs your cognitive powers such as memory speed. Such fatty acids are found in fried foods, milkshakes, butter, etc. High amounts of sugar intake, carbs, unhealthy fats and processed food lead to loss of concentration power as well.

What you can consume?

  • Raw blueberries or juice
  • Flax seeds whole or with boiled water
  • Dark chocolate (not the sugary, milky kind)
  • Millets or snacks made with millets

Consuming foods that are high and rich in fats leads to mucus production which hinders breathing while sleeping. High-fat dairy products, heavy cream, high-fat cheese and high-fat meat should be kept out of your consumption list in case you are facing sleep-apnea. One more reason for sleep apnea is overeating. If you have the habit of overeating, you should control it as soon as possible.

What you can consume?

  • Low-fat dairy products.
  • Whole grains
  • Fish such as Salmon (anything with omega 3 fatty acids if you are not a seafood person)

Falling Short of Breaths

An unhealthy diet that consists of oily foods, foods packed with bad fats and cholesterol can lead you to pack those extra pounds. People tend to continue eating unhealthy without exercising to balance what goes into the body. This unhealthy lifestyle leads to obesity, which causes lethargy in performing even the smallest of physical activities. It is therefore important to be mindful when eating.

What you can consume?

  • Fruits and vegetables
  • Healthy snacks made of wholegrains and millets

High Blood Pressure

Processed food has a high amount of sodium and sugar content, which leads to high blood pressure and diabetes. Extra sugar content in junk and other unhealthy food leads to extra, unwanted calorie intake. The usual calorie intake through sugar should be up to 150 calories per day. But a small can of soda alone contains 140 calories thus increasing the overall sugar intake.

What you can consume?

  • Foxtail Millet
  • Green leafy vegetables
  • Beetroot or beetroot juice
  • Dark chocolate (with 70% or more cocoa)

Don’t let your body suffer because of the unhealthy food choices that you make. Watch out for these early signals listed above and act with the foods that we have suggested to you. If you think that these foods are too boring to eat in their raw forms, you can always buy healthy snacks.
